How do I open a bank account with Revolut in the UK?

Revolut offers seamless international transactions, powerful tools and access to cool financial services. It comes with a great app and a wide range of features that empower you to manage your finances.

Here are some easy-to-follow steps to get you on your way with your first Revolut bank account.

1. Check Eligibility

Revolut personal accounts are fairly easy to open and are available to residents of:

– United Kingdom
– the European Economic Area (EEA)
– Australia
– Canada
– Singapore
– Switzerland
– Japan
– United States

For a complete list of criteria, check Revolut.com.

2. Get the Revolut App

Start by downloading the Revolut app from the App Store or Play Store. The app is available for users across the globe, allowing you to access its innovative international services.

3. Create Your Account

Create your Revolut account with your phone number and set up a 4-digit passcode. A UK number is preferred but you may use phone numbers from other countries if required. You’ll then receive a 6-digit verification code via text message to confirm your identity. That’s the first layer of security sorted.

4. Complete Application

Fill in your remaining details, including:

– Full name
– Birth date
– Address
– Email address

You should have these memorised by now 😉

5. Top Up Your Account (Optional)

What’s quite cool about Revolut is that they give you the option to add funds to your account during the registration process which means you can instantly start using it the moment you pass the next step. They support lots of funding methods so choose whatever is convenient for you.

6. ID Verification

Revolut will verify your identity through your phone, to comply with regulatory requirements and for added security. You’ll be prompted to take a selfie and a picture of your passport, which will take less than a minute.

7. Choose Your Account Type

Revolut offers a few account levels with charges:

  1. – Standard | Free
  2. – Plus | £2.99/mo
  3. – Premium | £6.99/mo
  4. – Metal | £12.99/mo
  5. – Ultra | £45/mo

Each account comes with its unique set of features and benefits, catering to different financial needs. Take the time to review and select the account type that aligns best with your lifestyle.
