Comcast Deploys Ciena Technology to Extend Fiber Impact
HANOVER, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Comcast and Ciena (NYSE:CIEN) today announced that Comcast is deploying Ciena's 5131 Coherent Access Platform (CAP) to help extend fiber connectivity faster and more efficiently. Ciena's coherent router technology will enable Comcast to extend the reach of its current fiber deployments more than 100 km and deliver 100 Gb/s—capacity to serve residential, small to medium-sized business (SMB), enterprise, and community anchor institutions—to new and existing communit.
