Helping people manage their money naturally leads to an important question: How can I make it work harder over the long term?

That’s why we’ve upgraded Emma’s investing features, giving you a simple way to start investing alongside the rest of your finances, all in one place.

Whether you’re exploring investing for the first time or looking to keep things organised, Emma now lets you take the next step in your money management journey.

Why invest with Emma?

Emma already helps you see your full financial picture by bringing your accounts together, tracking spending, managing subscriptions, and setting budgets.

So why not invest in the same app, without juggling platforms or losing sight of your wider finances? Having everything in one place can make it easier to stay informed and keep track of your money.

The General Investment Account

Emma’s General Investment Account (GIA) lets you explore a range of investment options so you can spread your money across different asset types and regions.

You’ll be able to choose from funds covering:

  • Sectors like technology, ESG, commodities, bonds and more
  • Geographies including the UK, US, Europe and global markets

Diversifying across different investments can help manage risk, though it doesn’t remove it entirely.

If you’re not sure where to start, you can also view our “most popular funds” list, showing funds that are currently popular with other Emma users. (This is for information only and shouldn’t be seen as a recommendation.)

All investing carries risk. The value of your investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you invest. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns.

How to start investing on Emma

Getting started is simple:

  1. Tap ‘Invest’ in the bottom navigation of the Emma app
  2. Open your General Investment Account
  3. Under ‘Investments’, tap ‘Add another one’
  4. Choose a fund and select how much you want to invest
  5. Complete your investment using an open banking transfer or funds from your Emma wallet

Once invested, your holdings will appear on your investments dashboard, so you can track them in one place alongside the rest of your finances.

Stocks & Shares ISA (coming soon)

We’re also launching a Stocks & Shares ISA soon.

This will allow you to invest in eligible ETFs within an ISA wrapper, with any growth or income free from UK income tax and capital gains tax. You can invest up to the government-set ISA allowance per tax year (currently £20,000), subject to eligibility and ISA rules. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may change in future.

More details will be shared closer to launch!

A note on risk

Investing is a long-term decision and comes with risk. The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you invest. Emma does not provide financial advice, so it’s important to do your own research and consider whether investing is right for your circumstances.

Emma is built to support financial clarity, better money habits, and informed decision-making, helping you manage your money today while planning for the future.
